Disgraced Rev Henry Lyons, former head of the National Baptist Convention USA, says he will resign after being convicted of racketeering and grand theft involving more than 4 million dollars. In a 20/20 interview with Connie Chung Lyons apologized for bringing shame on the church and indicated he will step down regardless of the board’s actions. Prosecutors allege Lyons and Bernice Edwards extorted firms for a non existent membership list.
