Play Construction at Oberlin First Church Tonight
Oberlin The play Construction a parable of the human condition will be presented Friday at 8 p.m. in the fellowship hall of First Church UCC by the senior high youth. The Oberlin Ministerial Association sponsors it as an ecumenical Lenten observance. The play by Ralph Stone depicts nine perplexed people using surrounding building materials including nations. It weaves a papal order about obedience to the pontiff with Jesuit vows and church politics involving figures such as Rev. Daniel Berrigan Rev. John McLaughlin and Rev. Robert Drinan. The plot touches on dissent within the Jesuit order and debates over social justice.

Adventist Church to honor Elder Hook at farewell social
Elder and Mrs Milton Hook of the Seventh Day Adventist Church will be honored at a farewell social tomorrow at 4 40 p m. Hook, age 36, leaves the Elyria pastorate to pursue a master degree in theology at Andrews University Michigan. He will preach his farewell sermon next Saturday at 11 15 a m after serving Elyria and LaGrange churches for a year and a half. He and his wife have two sons.

Presbyterians elect exec in Detroit area
The Rev. George P. Morgan was elected last week as executive of the Synod of the Covenant of the United Presbyterian Church in the U.S.A. Delegates from 14 presbyteries in the regional synod, covering about 1100 churches and nearly 400000 members in Michigan, Ohio and Kentucky, chose Morgan who has led the Albany Presbytery in New York since 1965. The synod offices are in Columbus, Ohio.
