Federal funds pledged for Gorge Dam removal in Ohio
The federal Great Lakes cleanup program will cover about 65 percent of the 70 million dollar Gorge Dam demolition and sediment removal project on the Cuyahoga River near Akron and Cuyahoga Falls. About 45 million will come from federal funds, with 25 million from state and local partners. The work would free 60 miles of river, aid water quality, and align with the 50th anniversary of the 1969 river fire.

Court rejects boy who stared at girl lawsuit
Cincinnati appeals court rejects a family's suit over discipline of a seventh grade boy at St. Gabriel Consolidated School. The court ruled the school handbook was not a contract and that a one day suspension did not violate procedures. The case followed the Archdiocese of Cincinnati appeal. The girl complained after the incident occurred with another student backing her into a corner while the boy stared.
