Ohio Senate OKs 1.5B Turnpike Bonds Aimed at Northern Roads
The Ohio Senate approved selling 1.5 billion in bonds backed by Turnpike revenue with 90 percent earmarked for road projects within 75 miles. A 10 year E-ZPass toll freeze for 30 mile trips was kept, and longer trips offer a credit against inflation linked toll hikes funded by the general fund. The measure, backed by Sen. Gayle Manning, awaits House reconciliation and Kasich signature by March 31.
