A March 14 fire in Wilpen near Ligonier Pa burned a year old child to death and injured three others. The blaze, believed incendiary, damaged the home of a local justice of the peace and spread to a Wilpen hotel, two grocers, a barber shop and a pool room. Prima Jane Wilson, trapped in a room, died in the flames.
Frank ender sues Logan Gas Company for 32000 over an explosion that wrecked his Lorain home at 406 5 Sth Street on July 1923. Judge Webber heard witnesses with both sides testing their case. After testimony the defendants moved for directed verdict but the judge overruled. He will charge the jury this afternoon and a verdict is expected.
The assessor's office in the county is preparing tax blanks to mail after April first. Thousands will be mailed. many cannot be sent due to missing proper addresses. Residents who do not receive blanks should call at the courthouse to obtain them or risk penalties if not returned within the time limit.
