Science Night at Heritage Elementary Draws Big Crowd
Avon fifth grade science teacher Amy Rottman and sixth grader Stephanie Reichert organized Science Night for its 16th year. About 800 brochures were handed out with 200 extra printed as attendance grew, and nearly 40 presenters from local science groups showcased exhibits from rep tiles to telescopes. Avon police dog Lenox, with Officer Chris Barton, performed as in previous years. Lenox is retiring soon after eight years of demonstrations. Principal Jason Call noted a lighter year on the ground but expressed excitement for a younger dog joining next year.
