Ohio economy braces for tough 1975 recession hit
Midwest Econometrics Inc says Ohio will endure the worst national recession since the 1930s. Ohio’s unemployment may stay near 8.2 percent this year as manufacturing slows and durable goods output declines. Inflation is expected to ease to 7-8 percent by year end 1975 and 5-6 percent in 1976. A housing pickup in late 1975 and stronger durables demand could provide modest relief in the latter half of 1975.
