Nord Center faces funding cut as board calls for continuity of care
Nord Center clients may continue receiving services but at lower funding as the Board of Mental Health considers non renewing the Nord contract set to expire June 30. In 2008 the board served about 9,000 people with two thirds at Nord Center. Norcare lawsuit over removals and contract renewals adds legal friction.

Wakeman Man Dies After Motorcycle Crash Saturday
Wakeman resident Michael Yelensky, 56, died after a collision with a southbound Toyota Camry on Baumhart Road in Henrietta Township. He had a blood clot in his leg and died en route to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland after initial treatment at Allen Memorial Hospital.

Carol Jean Kennedy nee Schneider 78 of Vermilion Ohio died March 10 2009 after a short illness. She was born July 19 1930 in Cleveland and lived in Vermilion since 1989. She managed Spitzer Hardware Store Grafton for 20 years retired 1986 and belonged to Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church VFW Womens Aux and Vermilion SOS. She enjoyed boating fishing and word searches. Survivors include sons Sacar Kamar Olmsted Bradley L Kennedy Judy and Rick Helmuth of Orrville. 11 grandchildren 12 great grandchildren one brother Donald Schneider Westlake and sister Roberta Merchant York Maine. Memorial service March 15 2009 at 1 PM at Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church. Memorials to Ireland Cancer Center or Vermilion Evangelical and Reformed Church.
