Builder Ligotke Renowned for Notable Local Structures
Eric P. Ligotke, a 52 year old Elyria native born in Goer bitz Germany, has been in the construction business since 1940. He built among others Thickhee Knight's Dry Cleaning, Ted Prindle's Cleaning Store, the original Elyria Coach Co. building, Pallas Dairy, and did mason work for Ohio Screw Products Inc. He served in World War I and was a POW in Italy. Later a citizen of Germany, Czechoslovakia, and Austria before obtaining American citizenship, he studied architecture and land engineering in ICS courses with a German English dictionary aid.
