Cholesterol drug Praluent lowers death and heart risk in study
In a large trial of nearly 19,000 heart attack survivors Praluent plus statins reduced the composite of heart attack stroke death or serious chest pain by 15 percent versus placebo over about three years. Deaths fell 3.5 percent with the drug and LDL dropped further with higher initial levels.
