Bond Issue Eyed $236000 Price Tag On Ice Rink Plan
The Lorain school board studies a $4.4 million general fund portion for 1960 with 82 percent of the budget, about $3.6 million, going to wages and salaries. About $230,000 was cut from the 1960 income and a $236,000 bond issue may be sought for an ice rink project as the board nears adoption March 24. Superintendent Dr John Evans estimates a $100,000 to $150,000 balance could be realized from anticipated income, with this year’s general fund income about $33,300 higher than 1959.
