The Mexican pursuers closed in within feet of Ashbolt before he fled toward the border. After a night hiding in weeds and crossing into Mexico, he reached a ranch for food where children yelled gringo. He reached Nogales and was cared for by physicians, then returned home with the Anti Balcon League.

Robert Kirk 82 and Mrs. Lockey Winset 79 wed in West Lafayette after a lifelong romance that began in childhood. Mr. Kirk is a livestock dealer from West Lafayette, and the couple, natives of Coshocton County, recently settled there after moving from Plainfield.
