Scout earns Eagle by fencing Penfield Park for safety
Dalton Conn, 15, of Troop 118 LaGrange, completed an Eagle Scout project at Penfield Recreational Park by planning and building over 200 feet of split rail fencing around the new gravel parking lot. The effort prevents vehicles from driving on grass and protects the walking trail as park supervisors urged. Dalton earned the rank Nov. 16 and formally received the badge Jan. 28. his project involved community volunteers and supervision by Assistant Scoutmaster Michael Fox.

Midview Kiwanis and Community Event Updates
The Midview Kiwanis meet noon to 1 p m at Grafton Village Hall. Bands from Midview Elementary earned ratings at the Ohio Music Education Association event. Several fish fries run Fridays through March at Our Lady Queen of Peace and LaGrange Lions for different ages with carryouts. Other events include VFW perch dinners, a Garden Club meeting with a scientist from Cleveland Museum, 4-H endowment dinner, a country music show in LaGrange, Easter egg hunt, and library programs. Decorations at local cemeteries must be removed by March 17 and 18 ahead of Easter.
