Quarters for Juvenile Court Allocated in County Jail
The county jail building, recently vacated by the Child Welfare Department, will house the Juvenile Court probation department. Judge Harold Ewing says an architect favors converting the second floor rooms into juvenile use, with commissioners approving. The plan saves about $200 to $250 monthly in rent and moves records from first floor offices to a basement storage area. The juvenile department’s current room becomes a courtroom for combined juvenile and probate hearings, restoring its historic dual function.
