FirstMerit Elyria branch slated to close in June
The Elyria West River Road FirstMerit branch at 1530 West River Road North is to close at 6 p.m. June 3. Customers may use the 248 N Abbe Road office. Huntington Bank plans to rebrand after acquiring FirstMerit in a deal valued at 3.4 billion dollars. The merger would create Ohio s largest banking company with about 100 billion in assets and 1100 branches.
