Voters may see debt limit raise for Grafton village
Spencer correspondent Neysa Stroup reports Grafton village may place a charter amendment on the November ballot to raise debt limits from 1 percent to 2 or 3 percent of property value. With $5,637,687 in property value, current debt limit is $56,377, and village funds and upcoming projects like a town hall are cited. A higher limit could allow borrowing for a fire engine without a public vote, though other major purchases would still require voter approval. Also, Kiwanis breakfast to be held Sunday at Belden Fire Station from 8 am to 2 pm with pancakes and sausage.
