Oberlin High Schools placed second among prep artory schools as 53 students earned honors at the Oberlin College and Conservatory Freshman Honor List ceremony in Finney Chapel. Eleanor Cady Otis Ball and Robert Winder led Oberlin fractions, with 30 women and 23 Oberlin honorees overall. 14 states represented.

Farm hand kills nine year old girl and himself
In Mansfield Ohio a 27 year old farm hand is believed to have slain Marjorie Gamble, nine, after luring her from Lexington school. He then shot himself in the forehead. The bodies were found at the Gamble farm near the Richland Morrow county line. The girl resisted and may have threatened to tell on him amid a reported struggle.
