Lorain County districts face limit on calamity days as a major snowstorm may close schools through Saturday. Up to eight districts have one day left, two have exhausted their five day allowance, risking June makeup. Avon Lake Keystone and Oberlin show mixed impacts within districts.
Neon painted signs along Route 57 between Gulf and Abbe call for repaving as potholes worsen with changing weather. City officials plan a $20 million reconstruction from Chestnut Ridge to Lake Avenue with new lights signals medians and extended turn lanes, lasting through October 2009.
