Elyria Catholic North Ridgeville Clearview and Parma Byzantine captured Class AA sectional titles at Berea advancing to the district tourney. Elyria Catholic earned its first sectional crown since 1968 by beating Wellington 64 55. Clearview toppled Brooklyn 96 63. North Ridgeville beat Holy Name 60 51 and Byzantine defeated Buckeye 64 52. Cleveland gang fight kills five at East Side show
A Vermilion man among five killed in a motorcycle gang brawl at the Fourth Annual Motorcycle Custom and Trade Show at the Polish Women's Hall on Cleveland's East Side. New York Clerk Charged In $380000 Embezzlement Case
Charles Eisenstein a 25 year old Bronx clerk lived modestly yet lent $20000 to a limousine driver bought his wife $40000 in jewelry and gave 10 relatives color TV sets. He allegedly embezzled $380000 from GAF Chemicals cashing checks since July 1969 and was arrested at Kennedy Airport with a pistol and a cache of guns in his apartment. Police say $1000 has been recovered and Eisenstein claimed protection from thieves in New York City.
