Lorain County Community College students interviewed about President Johnson's draft lottery proposal largely see the method as fair though opinions vary. Most favor proceeding with the lottery while deferments for fathers and essential workers and graduate students appear likely. undergrad deferments remain unsettled.
Ninety five passengers injured in a subway collision as one train skidded into another near a station. At least 45 taken to Massachusetts General Hospital and 25 to Boston City Hospital. No serious injuries reported. Passengers describe chaos as trains remained upright.
A storm sweeping from the South spawned tornadoes in the South and brought heavy snowfall to the Ohio Valley and the East. A four year old man was killed in a bar-room brawl in Elyria early this morning. Andrew Phillips of 832 Boston Ave Elyria and 3618 South Emmons St Rochester Mich died at St Joseph Hospital after 8 am. Police hold a 35 year old Elyria man for investigation. two others including a man and woman in the bar are being held as witnesses.

A 17 year old newlywed joins Williams Jr. in Circuit Court for arraignment on murder charges in the execution style killings of two 14 year old cousins Ronald Johnson and Wayne Mullen in a Rockford city park. The youth was previously acquitted of wounding another youth in the same park last week. Williams is the son of a former Winnebago County deputy sheriff and had wed on February 17.
