More than 25 high school graduates have applied for the first pre entrance psychometrical exam for the Elyria Memorial Hospital MB Johnson School of Nursing Fall class. A fire caused extensive damage at 20 Fox Furnace Row during the evening. Neighbors and two fire brigades fought the blaze for 30 minutes to protect Mrs. Lile Terry, the occupant. The fire started in a defective coal oil range in the kitchen and spread to the first and upper floors, with major losses to kitchen and living room furnishings. Second floor items damaged by heat smoke and water. No damage estimate yet.
