Will Ask More Time For Completion Of Erie Ave. Bridge

County commissioners plan talks this week with engineers to seek a PWA time extension for completing the Erie avenue bridge. The bridge likely won’t open until August, about six weeks after the June 14 target, with three more months needed post opening to finish the contract. Mt. Vernon Bridge Co says it can stay on schedule, while delays stem from unfinished substructure piers and foundations by The Great Lakes Dredge and Dock. Foundation completion is targeted for March 15.
