Three deaths and five arrests in two weeks in Elyria
Elyria police are investigating three overdose deaths from Feb 19 to Wednesday and logged 14 overdose calls in the period. A fourth person remains in critical condition at MetroHealth Medical Center. Officers found fentanyl in victims, with some cases showing heroin and fentanyl together. The deceased include two women aged 24 and 26 and a 41-year-old man. a 42-year-old man was critically ill as of Friday. Detective work continues.

Oberlin neighbor indicted in fatal bicycle crash case
Ronald Dicenzo of Oberlin was indicted on charges including failure to stop after an accident and vehicular homicide in the Oct. 10 death of bicyclist Charles Startup on Butternut Ridge Road in New Russia Township. Startup, 70, a Oberlin College graduate, died at Cleveland MetroHealth after the crash. Dicenzo’s license is expired. he is free on bond and due for arraignment next week.
