School board weighs teacher resignations amid student walkout
The board tabled resignations submitted by teachers after a meeting on school reopening and parent support. It noted no further agreement beyond the reasons for realigning and said return of teachers depends on parental attitude at the Wednesday meeting. The eight teachers named include Superintendent T. C. Simpson and High School Principal Allen Mizer among others. World War I veterans enrolled in the high school did not walk out. two reportedly left then returned voluntarily. An eight-by-ten American flag reportedly removed by students was not found. custodian August Furechman says it flew as usual. County supervisor Emma Gleason attended and said the county office offers advisory help and replacements would be hard to find if resignations are accepted.
