Charter vote added to May ballot no extra city cost
Elyria officials plan to add the charter amendment to the May primary ballot without additional city expense. Lorain County Board of Elections director Jose Candelario said costs are already covered by the primary, with possible nominal fees. The city’s Elyria share is estimated at 30,000 to 50,000 dollars, but Candelario noted charge back rules allow recouping election costs such as printing, advertising, poll worker pay, and machine delivery.
