Pioneers finish strong at state with two fifth placers
Elyria’s Steve Mitchell and Zack Goins both took fifth in their weight classes as the Pioneers girls and boys teams claimed momentum for next season. Mitchell, a former 103-pound state champ, fell in the consolation semifinals before winning the fifth-place match 8-2. Goins fought through a consolation semifinal loss to finish fifth at 140 pounds.
