Maloney and Carnera Ready to Go in Miami Bout

In Miami on March 4, veteran Irish heavyweight Jimmy Maloney and giant Italian Primo Carnera rested ahead of their ten round clash at the Miami Stadium Square Garden Arena. The winner earns a title shot against Schmeling or Stribling in September. Carnera trains lightly due to a fractured tenth rib, while Maloney pushes hard in hot sun at Miami Beach, aiming to repeat Boston’s decision over Carnera and ruin any contract with Schmeling or Stribling. Sparse betting grows from Carnera’s injury and limited training.
