Medical Mutual to acquire HealthSpan Partners in Ohio
Medical Mutual of Ohio will absorb HealthSpan Partners by end of 2016. The deal keeps HealthSpan members in employer plans through Aug 31 or the earlier renewal date, and individual policyholders through Dec 31. HealthSpan, former Kaiser Permanente of Ohio, sold its insurance business after restructuring and will transition members to Medical Mutual with no action needed by customers.
