An Elyria High student faced juvenile charges for inducing panic aggravated menacing carrying a concealed weapon and more after threats in class and possession of a knife. He remains at Lorain County Detention Center awaiting Monday Juvenile Court hearing.

A federal grand jury indicted Elyria developer Lorne J. Elbert Jr. and Elbert Building Co. Inc. on charges of illegally removing asbestos from the former Builders Square building in Lorain. LaGrange Man Injured in Diamond Products Office Blast
A 50 year old Diamond Products employee from LaGrange was hospitalized with facial burns after an explosion in his office at about 8 45 a m Friday. The blast damaged one office on the shop floor. no other injuries were reported. The employee was working with chemicals to form exploding targets for firearm practice. The firm says it does not handle explosives and the incident is under police and fire department investigation with the bomb squad.
