Driver dies after two-car crash in Sheffield Township
Elyria woman Genevieve P. Perkins, 71, died Wednesday after a two-car collision on North Ridge Road near Lake Avenue. Memory Babies, 58, was upgraded to fair condition from critical. Babies, who was eastbound, left of center striking Perkins head on. neither factor drugs nor alcohol. Both drivers were flown to MetroHealth. both cars totaled and fluids leaked onto the road. Both drivers were extricated from their vehicles.

The Wellington school board voted to end pay to participate for all sports in the 2016-17 year to boost participation. Superintendent Dennis Mack cited cost as a barrier to multi sport participation and noted annual revenue of about 25,000 to 30,000 dollars from fees.
