C-SPAN seeks help as streaming takes toll
C-SPAN, funded by cable and satellite operators, faces a revenue drop as streaming grabs half of TV viewing. Chief Executive Sam Feist cites unsustainable trends, with C-SPAN revenue down from 73 million in 2015 to 46.3 million in 2024, and a shift toward virtual MVPDs like YouTube TV and Hulu Live TV. Carriage talks with Hulu and YouTube aim to close the funding gap while C-SPAN maintains no advertising and relies on its Capitol coverage.
