An extended forecast from Wednesday to Friday calls for a 4 chance of showers or thunderstorms each day with increasing humidity. Highs reach around 80 north Wednesday and mid to upper 80s by Friday, south highs from mid-80s to around 90. Lows mostly in the 60s, with yesterday reaching 77 and 50. Normal highs are around 81.
A cool air mass moved into the West with scattered showers along the northern Pacific coast. A thunderstorm rattled San Antonio early today from storms that dumped hail in Texas and Oklahoma on Sunday. Temperatures were forecast 15 degrees below normal in parts of Northern California as cool weather persisted up the coast to Washington.
Hamilton AP reports Wid Cara a two year old Union Township company will release a set of Decision 92 presidential election cards next month. The company follows Desert Storm card printing with this political series aiming to capture events and figures in the campaign season.
Ohio officials report a 45 percent drop in underage drunken driving fatalities since the legal drinking age rose to 21 in 1987. From 1987 to today, total traffic deaths fell from 1,772 to 1,584 with alcohol involvement, and Ohio patrols will run two sobriety checkpoints over the July 4 weekend as part of National Sobriety Checkpoint Week.
In Cleveland a mother gave birth to a girl 17 hours after her 13 year old son Eric McKenzie was killed in a two car collision on Interstate 480. The family was returning from a fishing trip in Geauga County when the crash occurred near 9 45 p.m. Saturday. The mother, Kim Brahmens, went into labor and delivered at MetroHealth Medical Center around 4 p.m. Sunday.
