Lorain district remains on fiscal caution status
Lorain school district stays in fiscal caution for a year despite actions to ease finances. The district has cut 246 of 714 teachers and 26 administrative and non teaching positions since June 5, with 26 more retirements. The cuts aim to save 12.5 million dollars from a 91 million dollar budget, avoiding a 4.75 million dollar shortfall by year end and a 15 million dollar deficit next year.
