Lorain Community Gardens Expand With City Help
Dputy Safety Service Director Ken Shawver reports four new gardens in Lorain this year including a 30 by 150 foot plot at the Lorain Senior Center on Garfield Boulevard. About 30 east side residents helped plant with plants donated by Green Circle Growers of Oberlin.

Summer program signs up youths for pool and more in Lorain
Lorain County Community Action Agency and Lorain Parks and Recreation begin registrations for Summer at Central Park Pool Pass Youth for ages 9 to 19. The six week program runs noon to 5 pm July 6 to August 14 with 325 slots first come first served. Registration hours Monday 9 am to noon and 4 pm to 7 pm and Wednesday 9 am to 11 am and 1 to 3 pm at the recreation department office 329 W 10th St Lorain.
