Eaton Estates residents object to school boundaries plan

At the May 2 Midview Board of Education meeting Eaton Estates residents protested boundary plans they say would segregate their area. Spokesman Harvey Johns cited newspaper reports for details while board member Dr. Thomas Williams accused the Chronicle-Telegram of misreporting. Superintendent Glen R. Dennis said boundaries are under study and Eaton School could be filled from Eaton Estates, with Carlisle reaching enrollment by using the Black River as a divider. The board also accepted resignations, hired staff, approved a gas conversion bid, and set a July 10 budget hearing with executive session for staffing and a board vacancy.
