Avon Council tightens no knock rule with penalties

Elyria to fund Route 57 lights from Issue 6 funds

Mentor officer death leads to suspect pleading not guilty
Brian Anthony, 24, pleaded not guilty in Mentor Municipal Court to leaving the scene after a fatal crash and tampering with evidence. Police say he drove the car that struck Mentor officer Mathew Mazany as he assisted a traffic stop. Mazany died at hospital. Anthony was taken into custody. he claimed he did not realize he hit anything. No attorney listed in court records.
