Magic Johnson signs $25 million deal with Lakers
Lakers star Magic Johnson will receive 1 million dollars a year for 25 years once his current contract ends in 1984. Owner Jerry Buss compares the move to buying a Rembrandt, saying the value lies in Magic's future roles as coach GM or front office. The pact makes Johnson one of the NBA’s highest earners joining Kareem Abdul-Jabbar and Moses Malone.
