Youth sought for thefts eludes police in Elyria area

A 19 year old, the focus of an intensive police search, remained at large in the Elyria area after police reported sightings at Ridgeview Shopping Center in North Ridgeville. He had received medical treatment for an arm wound from a burglary at St Jude School, leading officers to his Cleveland Street home before he escaped through a side door. Police connected this burglary to others, including a church and high school break in, and noted entries used hinge pins and broken doors. Additional robberies and thefts were reported, including an attempted burglary at Old Mill tavern thwarted by the operator who fired a warning shot. A garage break in and a boat theft were also reported in the area.
