Lorain Police and Fire Committee plus northern Lorain County reps failed to decide on adopting a uniform curfew ordinance. Council members questioned need and enforceability, while supporters urged action and a county-wide approach.
A three car collision occurred at the intersection of Routes 113 and 38 at 6:40 a.m. The drivers named were Emil Markstanler of Oberlin, George Daniel of Amherst, and Emma Paine of Elyria. an unidentified fourth vehicle was also involved. No injuries or arrests reported.
A 14 year old Lorain youth was ordered to appear before juvenile authorities for questioning after a rock damaged a stained glass window at SS Cyril and Methodius Church on Pearl Ave and East List St. Pastor Rev Dimoff said he found the youth under the Lorain Theatre marquee with two others fleeing.
Lorain police cited five people in Municipal Court for traffic violations including driving while intoxicated and operating without a license. Raymond Amos 44 of West 37th Street and James Hoover 27 of the same address faced charges. later Clyde Lanner 41 and Clifford Graham 32 were among six charges tied to a two‑car crash at 16th Street and Broadway.

James A. Bede 23 piloted a Stinson two seater owned by his father James A. Bede president of Bede Products Corp Amherst. The aircraft stalled after a glide and struck a high tension wire before crash landing in a West Richmond Ohio cornfield. Passenger Miss Carol Jerningan 21 suffered bruises on both legs and Bede required 14 stitches for facial cuts.
Earle White president of the Cleveland Real Estate Board praised Lorain and the Better Home Committee of the Community Welfare Council for efforts to establish a better housing code. He said a strong housing code is essential before urban renewal programs can succeed and cited Cleveland experiences in revitalizing neighborhoods.

Police say his car widened a curve north of East 36th St Elyria Ave around 2 am, hitting two parked cars and crossing a lawn.

Herman Burke reports a $45 theft from a soft drink vending machine located at Ace Auto Wash, 1376 Colorado Ave in Lorain. Burke, 30, of 1520 Washington Ave, said the money disappeared Sunday night.
Lorain Municipal Court records show Quincy Donahue to face charges for running a red light with $5 and costs. Vivian Jacobozzi cited for driving without a license, improper backing, and $15 in costs. Kenneth Osborne, Isaac Moses, and Edward Kasco face various violations with fines and costs. Clifford Graham pleaded innocent to DUI and unsafe vehicle charges, bond set, trial August 17. Graham also charged for license violation with bond set. Raymond Amos charged with leaving vehicle under influence of alcohol with $200 and costs.
