Plans For Fall Programs Completed By Board Of League Of Women Voters

The Elyria League of Women Voters conducted its first board meeting of the year and outlined fall activities including a membership drive in six wards, a luncheon, and committee assignments led by Barbara Scarbro and Thomas Pasenow. The group plans a September meeting and ongoing community outreach in Elyria Lorain and surrounding areas.

Lorain Bride-Elect to Wed Robert Messaras on July 4

Miss Mary Ann Gabrie of Lorain will wed Robert Messaras of Lorain at nine o clock on July 4 in St Ladislau Church. A miscellaneous shower at 354 Thirteenth Street honored the bride elect with corsage prizes and gifts.

Burkes Honored On 25th Wedding Anniversary Party

Order Of St Francis Elects New Officers

The Third Order of St. Francis holds a monthly meeting at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in St. Marys Church with novice instruction at 2 p.m. in the same church. Worthy High Priestess Helen Ehlert led the final Bethel Shrine No. 24 meeting in the LOOF hall. Guests included Eu la McKee of Paradise Shrine No. 5 and Margaret Miller of Shaker Shrine No. 30. Announced were a September Shrine picnic at Mabel Logan’s Lake Avenue and an auxiliary meeting. A Sept 17 school of instruction was planned at Lake Erie Shrine in Laran with Bethel Shrine in charge. Birthdays for April to June were celebrated with gifts. Refreshments followed as Julia Davis chaired the committee.

Navy Mothers Club Holds Annual Picnic At Oberlin Park

The Navy Mothers Club No 121 hosted its annual picnic at Oberlin Waxside Park with families and a post picnic meeting. Helen Eastman led the event as picnic chair and a surprise birthday party for Commander Mrs Harriet Abbey followed. The group plans to meet September 23 at the Woman's Club.
