Centenarian Rosetta Lawrence Reflects on 105 Years in Elyria
Rosetta Lawrence, born June 28 1882 in Sibley Georgia to enslaved parents, marks 105 with memories of plantation life, early movement through the South to Ohio, and long residence in Elyria. She recalls childhood prices, the first car named Cleo, a 1910s airplane sighting, and her lifelong faith and community roles. Lawrence's story highlights resilience across generations and the enduring ties to family and church.
