Bliss Leads Cleveland Force With No Trades In Draft
Cleveland chose Brian Bliss with the No 1 pick after a quiet MISL draft held in the Stouffer Tower City Plaza. Bliss, a 21 year old defender from Southern Connecticut, had starred in the Budweiser Soccer Classic and impressed coach Timo Liekoski with his speed and scoring potential. The Force added Eric Eichmann, Terry Brown, Francis Okaroh, Bobby Joe Esposito, and James Garrant in later rounds, all tied to Liekoski’s American squad. Officials noted no trades occurred, though several players were rumored to be moved and discussions may continue.
