Castro plot tied CIA to mob not proven evidence

Senate intelligence committee found the Castro assassination plot as the sole link between the CIA and the underworld. John Rossetti testified for three hours about the alleged plan to poison Fidel Castro in the early 1960s. Sam Giancana named by Church as possibly involved. Tower says Giancana only peripheral. Rossetti provided greater detail on CIA underworld ties and chronology. Federal authorities plan to deport Rossetti to Italy, his birthplace.

Cleveland police indictment angers chief and mom

Cleveland Police Chief Lloyd Garey condemned the grand jury indictment of Patrolman Ralph Thomas for negligent homicide in the Derrick Browne case calling the charge inapplicable. Browne’s mother Gloria Adams decried the decision as a whitewash while pledging continued protest and federal scrutiny. Browne, 20, was killed by a shotgun blast during a chase. Thomas faces up to six months and $1000 fine if convicted.
