Firm denies rendering plant plans in Huntington Township
D W Nesbett and Sons spokesman said no plans exist to build a plant processing animal carcasses for feed. The firm had inquired with the Ohio Department of Agriculture about a plant near Rt. 58 and Bursley Road but claims they lack funds for such a venture. A May Department of Agriculture suit ended their grain elevator license, limiting activity to 10,000 bushels annually. Neighbors complained of hog odor from Nesbett's pig operation, while Nesbett blamed ongoing regulatory scrutiny and claimed efforts to drive them out.
