Ohio inmates gain delay on death penalty ruling
Seventeen Ohio death row inmates must await the next Supreme Court term to learn if executions will be allowed. The Court postponed a decision on the constitutional issue tied to capital punishment, delaying Ohio executions for potentially two to three years. Fifteen inmates are at Lucasville with two women at Marysville facing execution this year. The delay is blamed on the need for rehearing and additional legal steps.
