Navajo Nation fire containment rises as search for hot spots continues
Firefighters scoured steep terrain east of the Arizona New Mexico border for remaining hot spots from the Assayii Lake Fire, which burned over 22 square miles. Containment reached 60 percent as evacuations near Naschitti and Sheep Springs eased and cattle rounds resumed. The Navajo Nation set up a relief fund at Wells Fargo and urged donations be prioritized for perishable items.
