Six cent pill may block heart attacks and strokes
Dr. Jessie Marmorston and colleagues at USC Medical School report that a 1.25 mg daily premarin pill, derived from pregnant mare urine, reduced second heart attacks and prevented strokes in 421 men after a first heart attack. In a controlled trial, none of the premarin group had strokes while several in other groups did. Further study is needed to confirm effects and applicability to healthy men.
