Cult of Khrushchev Grows in Moscow Propaganda Push
Moscow media propagates a personality cult around Nikita Khrushchev as party chief and premier. The campaign labels him always right and portrays him as the savior of Soviet policy, aiming to bolster support ahead of the fall party congress. Western diplomats view the move as a bid to consolidate power and silence critics.

Picketing May Bring Court Suit at Wellington Plant
Former Pipe Plugs workers began picketing the Wellington plant in protest of activities by other corporations. Samuel B. Katz, an industrialist financier, said the action could lead to court action to keep pickets within legal bounds. An Allied Industrial Workers union was chosen as bargaining agent earlier this year but no contract was negotiated as the company disbanded. Katz outlined new firms Cold Forging Machines Inc and Cold Forging Inc active in research and development, to be headquartered in Washington Towers. An ASW representative talked with the pickets but provided no comment.
