Arctic Ice Field Expedition Aims To Map Glaciers
An Alaska summer expedition by the American Geographical Society of New York, backed by the Office of Naval Research, will extend 1941 and 1948 studies of the Juneau Ice Field. Led by Maynard Miller, the team seeks deeper access to ice depths and formation processes to improve long term climate forecasts and weather data for military and scientific use.
