Festival may end if donations stay low in Columbia
The Columbia Homecoming Festival faces possible cancellation next year due to sharp funding declines. Secretary Debora Bigler says the $17,000 price tag is not met as donations wane, with sponsors such as the Columbia Chamber of Commerce reducing support. Local sound provider All Top Entertainment has offered a lower rate to help cut costs while committee members trim expenses. The festival runs July 1–4 with fireworks and rides on Children’s Day, featuring acts like Liberty Singers and The Last Chance Band.
